Correct E-Tec Throttle Linkage Adjustment ?

When I have the throttle lever in the full forward position should the carburetor butterflys be open all the way? If so I noticed that I can manually open the butterflys at least another 3/16 inch. The thumb adjustment on the throttle cable is adjusted correctly because it will push the first lever as far as possible against the stop. There is a snap on plastic attachment past this attached to a metal lever that goes straight to the butterflys on the two carburetors. Does this snap on attachment have a threaded adjustment to help open the butterflys to the widest adjustment? It is a 2007 75hp. I have been told that I should be getting more rpms with my setup. Thanks for any help or suggestions.

I am reposting this once more. I think that someone out there knows the answer to my situation. Thanks again.

The throttles do not open up fully on your motor, that is normal. Because the computer "runs" the motor, even manually opening them up farther will not help.

tell us about your set up. what boat, height of engine, prop you have on it. present WOT RPMS. pictures would help. if the engine is not set up properly or the boat to large for the HP, or the prop is wrong. will all hurt performance.

Re: Correct E-Tec Throttle Linkage Adjustment ?

It is a 20 ft. pontoon Manitou fishing model. With just my wife and I in the boat I get 4600 rpms. Our weight is 375 lbs. The weight of the boat and motor is about 1900 lbs for a total of 2275 lbs. It is a 75hp E-tec with a 14x13 prop. It is set up as high as the motor can mount without slippage. I have been told by several on the prop forum that I should be getting more rpms. Once again thanks for any help or suggestions.

See an Evinrude dealer for the Hydrus series of pontoon boats props in 11" and 9" pitch.
