The service guy recommended the XD30 for my 1996 Evinrude 130. He said the other oils XD50 and XD100 were made for the newer direct injection motors and would be an overkill for my motor. I'm using the XD30 at his suggestion, but I just wanted to ask the experts if I have anything to gain by using the XD50 or XD100. I really want to take good care of my motor. If it makes a difference, the motor has less than 50 hours on it since new and the boat is a 1996 Crestliner 2160 Phantom. I am just using the boat for fishing, swimming and maybe the occasional tube pull. I just purchased it last month and the previous owner never registered it since 1997. He had some first and only bad experiences boating and did not want to proceed, it didn't help his wife being afraid of the water and unable to swim and unwilling to learn at 75 years old. Please let me know your thoughts about the best oil to use in my motor.
