1993 Johnson 115 bubble-back.

I read alot of posts about Lean Sneeze--and good descriptions by ENDSmapper---Thanks to all who take the time to explain!!!

I diagnosed mine by swapping in another set of carbs to see what it would do. Immediately it ran smooth, and idled down good, big difference right away.

QUESTION: the originals were marked 1 5/16. The pair I had sitting was from a 1984 115 Flatback and marked 1 3/16.. Was this swap a good diagnosis? Or could I be masking something due to using a different size? I'll get kits for the originals this week, but I'm assuming this is ok. Worst case I loose some Horsepower? Maybe use less fuel?

Thanks

The jetting for idle and intermediate are different, in other word it sounds like they(carbs) enriched the idle circuit thus causing the lean spit to cease. The high speed jetting is also different as if you run these you need to rejet it close to the 140 specs.
