Please state your motor and boat - someone around here may have one like it and be able to tell you right away.<br /><br />Normally your best mpg is where your boat is planing. Provided you have the right prop and get on plane, draw back as much as possible on throttle to the point, where you have a clean plan. To be able to do this you may have to redistribute weight in the boat.<br />This way you get the highest possible speed at the lowest possible fuel consumption. It is important that you do not get below clean planing. Imagine the position just before planing, when your bow is at it's highest and think about how much power it takes to perform this lift.
