Hey! If you buy at Costco or where ever with your Costco executive card through AMEX they double your warranty on the product. I don't know if they do that with other AMEX type cards, but they replaced a depth sound for me w/o any problems.
I have to agree with you on SONY TV's both of mine are a few years old and work great.
