I have a 1987 21 foot Ski Centurion Barefoot with 1987 225 Evenrude outboard. The steering system is a Detmar 14' dual cable rack system and the cables are shot. I've searched the forums and understand that Detmar is out of business so I can't get replacement cables. From what I've read the best advise it to replace the helm and cables with a Teleflex system. That is fine, but with what? I like the Teleflex zero feedback but it is only a single cable system. Teleflex says it will work on V6 motors but I have my reservations. I like to drive the boat pretty hard, should I go with a dual rack system instead? Any advise would be appreciated!
