1987 85HP. I have a broken carb. My friend gave me as set. but they are missing the jet on the center post inside. will they still work. See pic my old one is on the left.
Broken how? A carb will most likely not run correctly if it is missing a jet. They regulate the gas flow to a carb, and without it, it probably won't work...or at least correctly. Why don't you order a replacement jet for the carbs?
Thom if you look at the pic the one on the left has a jet on the post, the one on the right does not have a place for the jet.The housing at the mounting hole broke.
it could be the jet is located at the bottom of the center post while the old one has its jet on the side. There's no such thing as a carb having no fuel jets, I mean as far as this old carbs are concerned.
I am using the whole set. The Throat is the same size. I believe the jets are the same size, and the little tubes in the stem are the same. I'm going to try them today.
