Hi,
I just picked up another 35hp Bigtwin (1957 serial No.25930). I had just rebuilt the carburetor for my 1958 35 hp Bigtwin (serial No. 25937). I switched the rebuilt carburetor onto the "1957" motor.
The 1957 carb had the fuel filter attached, the 1958 did not. Is the lack of an attached fuel filter the only difference between the two models, or is there a difference in performance/function?
The 1957 motor had paint missing from the threads in a location that mirrored the screw location for the fuel filter that was on the "58". Is it possible that someone had switched the carb from a filterless to one with an attached filter.
Side note: I found a fuel pump, and will hopefully see how it performs tomorrow.
Thanks again,
Josh
