I'd go, if it rained, I put up my camper. The rain usually stops shortly after. Now if it's thunderstorms, different ball game. I usually stay in protected waters though.

I'm not afraid of rain, but I will not go out if it is windy. Our local lakes get REAL choppy with just a 20 mph wind. There is one lake that is kinda in a depression and it hardly ever gets choppy, but it is so low now that you can barely get launched off the ramp.

Here in Florida during summer months 30% is the norm. Well, maybe 40%.

We got a foot of snow on a 30% chance. I always look at the radar to see direction of any local storm, keep an eye out for any menacing clouds coming our way, and if need be tune in to the local weather radio for updates.

Ya, I've been caught out in unforcasted storms that pelted us with dime sized hail and huge rain drops. I pulled into a marina with an empty slip, rode out the storm, and left when the weather cleared.

So, I don't trust the weather guessers.

That is what rain gear is for, why buy if you don't use it. Wind, now that is another story. It gets nasty with wind over 10-12 mph is our shallow bay and it is 6 1/2 miles across it and get be real choppy.

I'm in a boat on the water. What, am I afraid to get wet?

In the Keys, the storm would blow thru fast and the water would sit down absolutely flat as glass. Beautiful time to be on the water. :)

At Lake Mead, the storm can make conditions very hazardous to be on the water. :(

0%, 30%, 70%, even 100%. I live in Florida. That's why we take Frog Togs with us. They work great for rain and as a wind breaker over warm clothes in winter too. Now lightning will get us off the water in no time!

i go out, but i stay close to the marina if weather is questionable. I can always put it in the slip and walk away for a few hours and get shelter inside or something if i have to. We have been out in pretty bad storms pretty far away from the marina, thats not a good feeling.

I look at the radar and sky to make a decision, I also listen to the weather radio for the small craft advisories and the lake Michigan forecast.

Psssh!

In FL there is ALWAYS a 30% chance of rain, even more...

So yes I go out... the occasional quick shower is likely, but usually passes quick...

I do always keep updated on any severe weapon conditions however, wouldnt want to get caught out in something nasty!

Hell yes! Whenever I can I put it in the water. Just gotta run to a part of the lake that isn't raining.:D Those full lengths covers don't hurt either. That's gonna be my next major purchase. Can you say fishing in the rain?:cool:

I am a meteorologist. A 30% chance means that there will be a few storms affecting the general area. It will rain somewhere....

40% means more area

60% means almost the whole area will see rain at some point in time during the day.

80% means it will rain everywehere for a majority of the day.

100% is rarely used since there will be parts of the area where then rain stops before noon, so I rarely use it.

Let the weatherman bashing begin :)
