Do you have a Repair Manual for your engine(s)?

I really wanted this to be a poll, but that is not an option in this forum.<br /><br />"Vote" anyway. Select one from 1-5 and one from 6-8.<br /><br />1. I have and use an OEM Manual.<br /><br />2. I have and use an aftermarket (Seloc, Clymer) Manual.<br /><br />3. I have no manual, but I don't attempt to work on my engine.<br /><br />4. I don't need a manual, I know enough about outboards to work on mine without it.<br /><br />5. I have no Manual. I depend on iboats members to get me out of trouble when I screw up or get into something I don't understand.<br /><br />6. I am an experienced outboard wrench.<br /><br />7. I have mechanical experience with other kinds of engines.<br /><br />8. I am a neophyte when it comes to engines.<br /><br />Thanks for your input.

The OEM manual is the only way to go!! They are more expensive but much more accurate than any other. I order one as soon as i buy the toy ( new or used).

1,2 and 7. <br />I know you said only one from 1-5. My OEM manual and my Seloc manuals both have their failings. One's no better than the other (OMC '64).

1 & 5. The first thing I do after getting a new motor is to get an OEM manual.

I'll go with 2 & 7. On 5 though, I must say that I do have a manual, but I depend on this forum, for everything not in the book as well as the free entertainment

goofed up some place,, anyway have manuals 1 and 2 maint exp, 7 but have overhauled a couple older mercury's and johnsons.

2 (aftermarket manual + original parts catalog which gives great views and descriptions of all parts) and 7.
