I had a Garmin 276C (land/sea) until it was stolen out of my Suburban. Now I use my back-up Garmin GPS48 until I buy a new marine only model. Always looking for suggestions.

Have a Garmin 172 with lake charts and love it. We make night runs up the lake to star gaze and with the GPS it's like playing a video game. I have plotting turned on for every run so I've got a solid line to follow. Don't leave shore without it.

I like the portability of it. Great on batteries and it has taken a few falls in the lake and it floats very well Plus the accuracy is great. We use it for geocaching, on the bikes and in the boat.

Oddly enough mine is white and I;ve never seen a white one anywhere.. Always silver.

I now have a Garmin ETREX Vista C - Plenty of GPS for my needs & i can actually (pretty much) opperate it

I run a Lowrance LMS 527c DF and use it between 2 boats. That way I don't have to get a second one for the other boat, and who uses 2 boats at the same time?
