Re: Do you run your motor on muffs at the house?
I bought this boat in June this summer, and my muffs from my last vessesl were ruined (looksl ike the squirrels chewed the rubber while it sat on a shelf in garage) ... but since I had a lot of confidence in my boat, I always launched and started. It was not a good "cold starter" but always ran like a champ once started. Near end of season - she sat for 3 weeks unused. When I finally launched her, and 3 minutes of cranking, she never fired once. Had to retrieve then charge it at home. A lot of wasted effort (trailer, unbutton cover, untie, load, launch .... crank.... then retrieve... trailer home)
After charging - I got some new muffs, and fired it at home before next use...
I had a full tune up before she was winterized, mechanic said 2 of the plugs had a bad gap... and there was blockage in the carb. Now the bulb gets hard when pumped, and new plugs to put in for spring.... he said it should run fantastic...
But... you can bet I'm gonna fire it in my drive with muffs every time now to save the headaches just in case she don't fire.
