Re: Does anyone know if Is it ok to run a motor if ..............
I am not a master mechanic, nor do i claim to be, but seems to me that if "I" repaired that sleeve for you, and it slid back down, i would feel obligated to repair it for you. Being a sleeve, (i have not looked at the parts breakdown for that engine), would it, or would it not need an "inner" seal as well? If it has slid down the shaft AGAIN, i would look for the cause of the problem, because it is obvious there is one, rather than "patch" it up.
in my PERSONAL opinion, if i had any doubt as to if it would hurt my engine, i would darn sure not even take a chance. you are looking at a very expensive repair if you do run it, and when it seizes, and it will, you will be WAYYYYYY out where you do not want to break down, It always works out that way.
I had originally asked that question to gather more information so everyone here could help understand the problem a little clearer, i had then decided i was not going to post back, due to the comment, but i did notice you had just asked the same question in a earlier post. Why not just ask it again in the post, rather than start another. You did make a very wise descision to ASK before you kept using it. There is no dumb question.
I am done posting on this thread, but i will happily offer my opinions on the FIRST thread that was started on this same topic.
