I had my boat winterized last yr and they gave me new drain plugs to replace the old, well i just got my boat out of storage and am unable to locate my manual at the moment i found one drain hole on the side of the block and am unable to find the second hole.

I have a mercruiser 165 hp 250 I-6 anyone one know where this is or can direct me to a diagram? I'm unable to find a diagram online.

Thanks
Jeff

Re: drain plugs

Ayuh,... It should be in the bottom of the manifold, pointing straight up, somewhere near, 'n above the block drain, maybe slightly aft...

Re: drain plugs

there is what looks like a petcock screw coming out of the side of the exhaust manifold, not sure if that is a drain plug or not? They gave me two screws.

like i said before i found the one on the side of the block, not sure if there is one under the motor somewhere all i see there is the oil pan.HPIM2110.jpg

That's what I was getting at.... the mystery plug will go where the water is running out of the engine.

I suspected as much, but I just had to post it in words.
I read a lot of posts where people don't actually look. If the engine runs they think all is well. Till the boat fills with water or quits running, then they want to know why. Then when asked where the water comes from we find out they didn't look so they have no idea where the water came from.
