Genlemen, I am sure many of you has done this before, but I cannot rase the hand (and drill) to make a hole in the transom. I want to secure the outboard, so it cannot be stolen easily. So I was thinking of drilling though the hull and either using one of those outboard locks or runni ng a steel rod though it and capping it off at both ends. Also the question is for sealing the hole afterwords. I do not want to wet the wood inside, but I am not sure if I can seal the hole inside the transom 100%.
Does anyone know if there is still wood in transom of new Sylvan fishing utility boats?
