In the process of changing the gear lube (it's draining right now). I removed the gear lube monitor and cleaned it out by stuffing paper towels and swabbing it around with a screwdriver to pick up the sludge. The finished product is nice and clean but it was a pain to do.
Is there a better way than this? And...
When I unplugged the sensor wires I neglected to note which wires went where.
Does it matter which way they go? And...
Simply out of curiosity, I think that the sensor inside looks like a float switch and must monitor the oil level, but what exactly happens if the sensor "senses" low oil in the monitor anyway?
