Re: Dunaruna, Kiwi Phil & Get Reel

I was at the Bank, 1st day of this test.
Said to the old bloke beside me:
Hows the cricket going?
@#%*&* POMS are playing for a draw.
What?
Yep, batted all morning for 55 runs
Is that all?
Yep, they'r going to bat for days, and if we do something silly, they'll take a win. Either way they thing their @#$$%* good!!

Then again, maybe they can draw one and win 2, or god help me, they can win 3 on the trot.

Unlike Aldo, I'm with Triton.

RPJS, if the holiday turns bad, after enjoying the company of the southerners, jump a plane and come up our way. The Beers is cold, companies reasonable, and we'd love to meet you.
Cheers
Phillip

That is a stunningly frank yet humerous admission of defeat. To be fair as a South African we also pride ourselves on our cricket abilities but to be fair the Aussies are really top of the pile and an absolute pleasure to watch, but as always the big wheel turns.

Good on ya Bruce

Cheers
Andrew

Bring on the BA, blab away on the BA forum as much as you like RJ, the real issue is you're 2:nil down. If the BA is as good at supporting the English team as its namesake airline is at serving passengers then I have absolutely nothing to fear! I've got my green/gold wig and war paint ready! :p

Re: Dunaruna, Kiwi Phil & Get Reel

Here's a little ditty for the BA: (Sorry!!)

A tune for the Barmy Army
Sung to the tune of Don’t Cry for Me Argentina, with profound apologies to Sir Andrew Lloyd Weber and Tim Rice.

Don’t cry for coach Duncan Fletcher,
The truth is: we don’t respect you…
You’re such a Giles fan, a boring spinner,
And we’d like to – back a winner.

So then, let’s all back Monty,
His talent shows, that he’s no donkey…
He may be not be English, but it’s our image,
A token black guy – who may cause damage.

Oh Monty, Monty, Monty,
His turban, it’s so funky…
But he can spin it, right to the limit,
And the next test? We need to win it!

Don’t cry for coach Duncan Fletcher,
The truth is: we don’t respect you…
You’re such a Giles fan, a boring spinner,
And we’d like to – back a winner. :'(

I'm still here Phil (having a few problems logging in)

I hope you see a few changes in the England team for Perth. Giles has to go to make room for Monty and me thinks a change of wicket keeper may be in order.

10 days and counting. Flight EK404.
Are you guys ready for this invasion???

I've got my money on a series draw 2-2.

RJPS, having just carefully crafted the lyrics for a BA song, all I can say is that Supertramp have already a song appropriate to your statement: Dreamer!

[colour=blue]Bad, real bad.

This is a pic from my backyard. The fires are over 200km away but the smoke is filling the yarra valley. The sun is just a pale yellow globe with no intensity.

That smoke does look bad Dunna.
Is the light bad enough to effect the cricket.!
More important is there any disruption to fights!

Re: Dunaruna, Kiwi Phil & Get Reel

Have you ever seen anyone celibrate thier first ashes wicket quite like that before.

It seems that everybody in England apart from Duncan Fletcher new what Monty could do.

O/K we've given you a 2 match head start, now's the time for the England lads to get thier heads down and regain the ashes.

BTW I thought that Warnies few overs at the end of the day looked like he's got a bad shoulder, I don't think I've ever seen him drop short of a length that many times.

Maybe he just needs to adjust his diet, you know, mix in a few redheads every now and again 8)
