Oh NO! RP, you'll just have to do what our footy fans do... get totally p!ssed before you go in. On the other hand you could actually enjoy every second of every hour of every one of those 4 days (why not five?) totally sober. As Nelson (Simpsons, not Column) says: "Haaa - haaa!"

I've just checked to see what the score is and found that this part of the Raglan is designated as a no drinking area <br /><br />Wife has just come up with the idea of decanting cider into an empty apple juice bottle, but it's not the same as a cold beer.<br /><br />There is a bar just behind the stand but then you can't watch the game.

Edgbaston. Arrrrgh, just the sends shivers up my spine,<br /><br />Who can forget the time in the late 70's at Edgbaston when dennis lillie, with a bit of help from Marsh, greg chapell and others had the Poms on the ropes. The Aussies only had to get about 124 with two days left to play. <br />If I remember correctly the openers got us off to a good start, 0-50 or something, then young Bob Willis tore through the order, all out for 90 something.<br />The Poms went on to win the series

Rp<br /><br />Just find a way to sneek some in, I understand that your beer doesn't have to be as cold as our's. My suggestion is to wear baggy clothes and sneak a few in, but the cances are you will come in for more attention than the boss, so get her to take the majority.<br /><br />Take a esky, flask or something because they will check the obvious. You'll have to arrive at the busiest time, so that they don't have time to check everything.<br /><br />But don't go empty handed because we will be watching to see you doing the balmy army thing or whatever.<br /><br />I haven't done this before but i suspect Aldo has.<br /><br />I hope you enjoy the 4 days<br /><br />GR

Last spring, open air (local winery) Jackson Browne concert. Very hot and barmy night - snuck in 2 bottles of chardy. The 'loaf' trick works!!

Thanks for all the ideas, I'm damn sure I get a few in one way or another!! <br /><br />Chris, I would have had the 5 days but this nasty thing called work got in the way <br /><br />As for an Aussie win at Edgbaston you would have more chance of finding a few hens teeth .

Being a total cheapskate I have put cask wine in a screw top wine bottle for those "fancy" restaurants that state "BYO bottled wine only" so how about red wine in a screw top coca cola bottle? Grape flavoured coke anyone? <br />As for RPs latest post - dream on coz we've found the only hen in the World in need of a dentist!

England team news!<br /><br />Paul Collingwood has been called up into the final 12 for the Edgbaston test, he has hit a great run of form in the past 2 weeks, hitting 3 centuries for Durham in 10 days.<br /><br />In order for him to play England will have to drop Giles or Bell (my money would be on Giles, Edgbaston is not a wicket suited to his bowling).<br /><br />Some realy good news, I have had an email reply from the ground re "No Alcohol" seems like the stewards are going to turn a blind eye providing no one is stupid. .
