RP, I served with the British for 12 years. I kind of got used to you POMS. And as for kicking our butts... it's not over yet my friend... not by a long way! :)

Re: Dunaruna, Kiwi Phil & Get Reel

OK Someone fess up. Is Geraint Jones on the Aussie payroll!!!

Lets face it he has the third best run average for the Aussie team and last nights dropped catch was as bad as anything I have ever seen, how many more times is he going to let the side down before Fletcher gets rid of him.

Freedie was bowling out of his skin last night and had Warnie on the back foot, he then delivered a perfect line pitched up ball that found the edge of Warnies bat, the ball carried at waist height to Jones and went straight through his gloves.

Why can't the England selectors understand that he is out of his depth and bring in a new keeper.

Methinks Mr Vaughan has left the Aussies some hope. No longer thinking Aussie win but DRAW! Thanks G. Jones! :) :) :)

Triton,

When was the last time the Aussie team were playing a rear guard action, having to bat out a full day to save a match??

I think we are going to see some real fireworks tomorrow. Harmison and Flintoff will open the bowling with all guns blazing, Giles will then come on and bowl all day with the 3 main pace bowlers doing 5 over shifts from the other end.

If Australia can bat through that attack they will have done very well.

Win or draw tomorrow the England team will go to Trent Bridge knowing they are the better side.

:) :) :p

I reckon the Aussies might have to pull off a real Hudini Act to win this one, but, lets just wait and see what happens.
Cheers
Phillip

Well, the latest decision to dismiss Damien Martin just about sums up this whole thing. Umpire Brunkner can't see, can't hear and can't judge. The problem is, bad decisions, which have been a problem throughout, make the whole thing a farce. I will make no further comment on this thread. Good luck to both sides.

Mark.

Hands up anyone who was not on the edge of thier seats for that one.
Triton that was a bad decision but all things tend to even out, Harmison had Bret Lea plum and Billy gave it not out.
The Aussies have pulled off almost a mirical to bat today out, Ricky Ponting has probably just played the innings of his life.
England will know that they deserved to win the game and had there not been the rain on Sat they would have, but how many times over the past years has the rain saved them when they were looking down the barrel of defeat.

The past 2 weeks have given us the 2 best test matches I have ever seen, the 2 best teams in the world are putting on one he11 of a show.

Bring on Trent Bridge :) :) :)

RP, as I said last night I will make no further comment on bad umpiring because as you say it tends to even out. Good game overall with England unlucky not to win but Australia will regroup (I hope!). Yep, bring on Trent Bridge. :)

Re: Dunaruna, Kiwi Phil & Get Reel

I have just heard the news/results. Can't say I am not pleased. Can't stay up all night to watch, which is a great pity as this would have to be the best series in many a year.
Can't wait to see what is going to happen in the next test. Slowly coming to the opinion it may not matter who wins the series as the quality of the games played is so good.
Cheers
Phillip

Our boys stepped it up a notch to snatch a draw, they were lucky. If they want to win the series, they'll need more than one notch!

Congrats to England, the better side was robbed of a victory, IMO.

BTW RP, the barmy army needs to take a leaf from the pakistani spectactors, soft rubber balls don't intimidate the aussies, gotta throw bottles and cans :D

Bring on the fourth test. AUSSIE! AUSSIE! AUSSIE!
