Tell you what Forktail...if you can run on the Yukon on half the fuel of the others and still be reliable, you have a big advantage over the others. I'm not gonna explain all the advantages to you since you already know everything...but there are huge plusses to being able to carry more of a load and have more range in remote locations. Been there...done that. Used to carry a 30 gallon drum of fuel on a 16'Zodiac...woulda been nice to exchange it for a smaller tank that could be stowed out of the way...just a Thought

I sure am thankful that we have someone who can parse every line to frame an issue to his point of view. He gave us the "rest of his story" but does not have a clue why the article was posted,
go figure.
Backfire ;)

I'm certainly no expert rcupp. But I spent a good part of my life on the Yukon, and I know advertisements when I read them. The report would've been a lot better as an accomplishment for the E-TEC by some average person, rather than a show of superiority over the already proven outboards that work there by someone with connections with Bombardier.

You can take whatever I say however you want. If you want to believe all the hype these dealers post here, then be my guest.

I understand what you're saying 101. Trouble is you're already assuming the E-TEC is as reliable and durable as other proven outboards. And you're assuming it burns half the fuel.

When the E-TEC's prove to be reliable, and they do it burning half the fuel of the others, then I'll begin to raise my interest. Until then, as new technology introduced by a new outboard manufacture, I'll wait and see.

Reading each of these e-tec posts is like spending a few hours with my mother in law.

Matbe iboats might sponsor a prize to the first person who can correctly identify the poster most like my mother in law.

I locked it once and then backed off. Now it is. A case of board members tired of dueling.

Closed.
