Engine does not seem to be pulling in water from muffs

Had not been to be that in awhile and so I connected the muffs and turned on the water and as normal water shots out from the muff rubber part touching the outdrive. Then started the engine. Normally with the engine running only a little water comes out from around the muff rubber part. This time did not seem a difference engine running or not.

Little or no water coming out of where I expect to see water with exhaust.

I/O is a VP DPA- OXI.

Engine is a 2012 V8 5.7L with closed cooling.

I guess I will come back and pull the raw water impeller.
Maybe connect garden hose direct to engine port.

Will the raw water impeller vanes flip when engine is started if I somehow got them pointing the wrong direction last time I installed new raw water pump?

If blades are facing the wrong direction when installed there is a good possibility that the blades will be damaged, only way to know is look.

Also if you removed the pump and hoses, make sure hoses went back on in correct order

So looking at the pump on the engine the vane at 12 o'clock should curl to the left or right. This is normal rotation engine.

I am pretty sure the hoses are slightly different diameters and so cannot be reversed. But how to check?

Normal rotation is left hand at the flywheel
Which means when look at face of the motor it turns to the right (clockwise)
