Good day.
I need some advice please.
I am looking to buy a 5.5m Gladiator Rubberduck. It has a semi-rigid hull.

It comes with a 130hp Yamaha engine. Is this engine too big for the boat? How will that affect the boat`s handling? I will use it on the sea a swell as on fresh water.

What is the maximum strength I can use if this is too big.
Your help is much appreciated
Cheers

Look at the tech plate on transom if it still has one attached, there you will find all information related to rib/max engine configuration. I think that a 130 HP engine is too much for a 5.5 rib, 5.3/5.5 mt ribs usually use 70/90 HP engines.

If it's too much will need to wot with prudence, move crew around middle/bow to balance better the rib, don't know if it's in the weight limit the transom can hold, if it's a 4 stroke engine, much heavier. Look for the plate or email the manufacturer for peace of mind and soul..

Happy Boating
