Well I was surfing here tonight and found out my engine on the boat I
purchased a few weeks ago is to big of an engine rated for the hull.
Its an 80 hp Evinrude speedifour, it started and ran fine when I dunked
it in the lake on the way home when I picked it up.
But I am not interested in having an engine that is 10 hp over what I
need on the boat, it looks like most of the stuff I will be replacing or
messing with in one way or another. And the last thing I want is a
messed up transom.
So anyhow when I take this thing off the boat do I stand it in a corner
on a stand or what ? I plan on taking the entire top of my boat off and
this will be in the way of that. Are the drive cables and so on easy to take off?
I would like to keep it in good shape incase I sell or trade the
thing... is why I am asking the best way to store this. Do I need like
an engine puller for this or will it stay hooked to the transom as I
unbolt it ? I don't need to loose any toes lol.
thank you
