Hey guys,
Going to be starting an engine swap soon. Bought a boat by accident with a bad floor thinking I could fix, turned out everything was rotted. But, has a brand new 350 (5.7) swap from 305 (5.0) in it. So, after finding out that the whole boat is a bust, bought another one with a good hull, but doesn't run. The new one has 5.0 EFI in it.
I will be swapping the 5.7 in place of the 5.0 EFI that doesn't run. It seems like a pretty straight forward swap as it was done in the first boat I bought. Pull outdrive, disconnect everything from motor, pull, replace and reconnect, align, and replace outdrive. Also planned on using the drive from the 350 as it is in better shape. The 350 has the straight transom dump exhaust. Thinking about maybe using that too as I enjoy the sound.
What I'm wondering is are there any good "while you're in there" things to replace while the motor is out? Already planned on the oil filter relocation, but not sure of anything else.
