I have an Eska 1747B 7HP motor with FWD and REV.
It was stored for many years but does have good compression
and fires up.
I took the bottom end apart and found a few worn parts, replaced them all,
except the clutch assembly.
My question pertains as to how this combination of fittings work.
There is a 1/4" pin that fits dead centre in the top half of the assembly.
It appears at one time this pin was fixed to this part.
It is now however broken off.
The bottom part of this assembly has a spring inside, and fits to the spline of
the main drive shaft.
I have contacted a couple of the part suppliers mentioned on here and (certified )supplied all except the clutch assembly.
Told me not available and to weld the old assemby which will cause the motor
to only start in drive.
I have machine shop experience and feel I can machine new ones except I am
not sure the function of this broken pin.
Can any one help me here please.
