Less exspensive is not a MECHANICAL benefit - if it cleans to the point where it dislodges stuff that causes problems - is that a
benefit. Are there any mechanics out there who like it from a strickly mechanical point of view? I want a marine mechanic to
explain to me why ethanol is good for my motors.

DANG! I had one outboard that I ran on E10 and it blew up the first season. At the same time I had another that ran for 10 years more with no problems---NOW what am I to believe? Which argument can I make? With whom should I side? Is E10 good or bad or both? Decisions, decisions, decisions. LOL

I've seen a couple comments on ethanol being cheaper, but I'm not sure that's really the case if you count the ethanol subsidy money coming out of your pocket.

My opposition to ethanol has taken a political turn, but I won't bring that into this board.

Last season I pulled almost a quart of water after the Starcraft was stored with a full 50 gallon tank of E-10.
I can't say it was directly linked, but I've made a point of using non-ethanol fuel since then.
