Sorry i should clarify

The above diagram is a 115HP turbojet that has the telltale coming from the top of the head and empties into the exhaust muffler (whatever it is called) this is water being pushed from the JET PUMP up to the motor

The transplant motor is a 100HP outboard that will give up its power head to mount onto the top of the jet pump. The 100hp has a telltale that runs from the exhaust lower corner up over the a bank of cylinders and then out. (NOT FROM THE HEAD) like the turbo jet. This comes from the water pump in the outboards leg ?

So the research comes from

there is a OMC service bulletin referenced in the above link with instructions on adding the telltale to the outboard motor due to over heating and air locking.

Thanks

Jon :)

This is a picture from the above link, as my 100hp is a outboard motor it does not have the two fittings on the water jacket onto of the head to hook up to the exhaust like the turbo jet. My telltale is like the picture

The service bulletin came out in 1994 to deal with the 3 cylinder 56 cube motors.------Many folks have gone overboard and applied this to every outboard !!

Plug the fitting on exhaust cover and: (A) drill and tap heads for crossover plumbing (B) Swap heads off old engine.

The 85 HP block has smaller intake ports on sides of cylinder.----Why are you looking at another block ?----I thought you already picked up a motor ( $300 screach tokens ) to use in your project.

@racerone I did it’s sitting all nice on the stand out in the garage, almost 2 nice to take the motor out of ............. :)

When I seen This powerhead 85hp I wondered if I could bolt my 115 parts on and make it work as I am sure I can get this 85 for a song.
