Hello all
Newbie to the forums here, I would never have guessed such a forums existed!!
Anyways I have not run my outboard for three years. It is a 1978? 55hp 2 cylinder Evindue that I bought rebuilt. I have run it for a couple seasons before storing it. I may have gotten sloppy on winterizing it( got married, bought a house etc...)
When I got ready to use it again I got new fuel and blew residue oil out of cylinders before I tried to start it. Engine seemed to idle ok and throttle up on muffs. I put boat in water this weekend and it seems ok at idle and at partial throttle(~1500rpm). Then I went to throttle up it would only go to ~3000 rpms. Seem to run smoothly and did not overheat so I ran it for a while, about an hour total, at varying speeds seeing if it would clear up. Now I'm reading these forums and it sounds like it may have been running on one cylinder. I guess I'm trying to figure out if this sounds correct to others and I'm wondering if I could of hurt thr engine by running it this way for the hour it was run?
Thanks in advance
Brian Kelley
