Re: Evinrude ETEC 130 using Amsoil HPI oil
assuming the amsoil HPI is a high quality brand you can make one another test and report the results : run the boat on amsoil and the fill some xd100 and run again. you will find out the boat performs nor better neither worse than on the other. all other is a discussion when running on lean mode and having a warranty issue.
there are many myths about oils and this whole thread is pure speculation . when you want to have a serious research you must first have detailed technical data about the XD100 to find out what is so special in it. then you must have technical data about amsoil HPI to compare it .
the whole thing makes only sense when you run the lean mode and the amsoil is much cheaper than xd100 because when not simply fill in xd100, an oil which is approved and proven to work very good in evinrudes direct injected engines.
one interesting question would be : does bombardier produce xd100 by its own or if it is bought by a oil producer and bottled with the evinrude logo?
