Re: Evinrude Lark IV 35530 (L or 1) Questions.
Paul: Okay I think I understand better now. In the picture that I show below it is the hose that comes out of the left side of the fuel pump. In another picture of the pump I think I can read the words "pressure" on that hose position. Also are shown a couple of pictures of the reed valve area. I notice something in the picture that I never noticed before and it looks like a little fleck of rust or something that is kind dark brown in color. Looks to be about 1/8" in diameter even though it is not exactly round...haha... I knew we should have taken the cover off of the reed valve area and looked that all over. But we can still do that.

"Set that cylinder's piston to top, and get one of the kids to blow into and then suck on that line. (Do not inhale. [Wink] ) Should give you an idea if the crankcase is sealing correctly. You should be able to draw air through the reeds but not blow it back out. With the piston in the down position, you'll just blow through the exhaust ports."

We will do this whenever it is that we next look at it again...

Jimmbo: That is a name that I have been called a lot in my lifetime too...haha... Thanks for the info on the carb.

Thanks again to all who have helped and to anybody else who adds ideas here.
