Hey everyone, I was standing outside with my daughter discussing how I should rebuild my dads old MFG . She turned and said Dad---DAD---I Know lets make it a hot tub!!:) My brain went into overload mode.. A fiberglass hull gutted out spray in foam ,run piping, pump ,heater , control box temp settings, set up in yard by the pool what a great idea!!! Has anyone seen this made ? I know you guys will have ideas:rolleyes::D
Please chime in if you like:)

A buddy and I came REALLY close to setting up a 27' cuddy next to his pool.... we weren't doing a hot tub but.... You'll need to come up with the interior of the tub... best bet would be a free or cheap tub off c/l dropped into the hull and a deck to fill the rest of the hole

X2^^^^ Something like this! This one was done for a dingy next to a houseboat. It would be great , you can store the beer and drinks in the coolers and the towels in the forward hatches. Wonder if the city would cite you for a run down boat in your yard, lol

you would rot the stringers and transom out in no time.....never mind the deck !!!!!!!

exactly what kind of fuel mileage do you expect to get out of this boat?......do you think you will ever get on plane?......:eek::D

the only problem would be making the interior.....the interior would become the hot tub....so the shape of the hull would be wasted.

if you just wanted to add benches and loungers......the problem would be fairing and re gellcoating the inside of the hull....lot of work....

but it would be unique !

lol....lets seee what the cops have to say about drinking and boating now !

If I recall correctly, there was an episode of the tv show "Nash Bridges" that had a scene where a bunch of guys did just that. The boat was still on the trailer and it was parked in their driveway.

Ayuh,... Excellent Idea,....

I've got the houseboat, 'n a hot tub that needs rebuildin'....
I've actually been toyin' with the idea of setting the tub on a 12x12 floating deck extension...
I like this idea, Much Better...
'ell,.. if I ever sell the houseboat, I could just tie this thing to the dock...
Ayuh,... I like it,... Alot....
The wheels are Spinnin', 'n I've got a hull or 2 in the back 40 that just might work....

Great ideas guys! Placing a old tub shell inside and decking around would probably be cheapest and most easy to build. Oops is right , It would be kind of hard and costly to form and gelcote but a bowrider/disco pit would be awesome!!

This is cool.
It might be cool in more ways than one.
Homeowner type hot tub systems (well mine anyways) takes 24 hours to get from 70 something up to 104 degrees.
So unless your able to haul/move it with the water already in it and heated, waiting 24 hours to use it might not workout.
Plus you would have to run a generator to run it when away from shore power.

The op is talking about installing it in the yard and if you read my post you would see this was done to sit next to a houseboat. So running power in either case shouldn't be an issue. How long it takes to heat up would depend on the heating element in that particular tub. Many larger boats have hot tubs and they can be run while not at dock.
