Have been on here a bit and found a ton of useful info. Thought I would post up some of the pics of my mariner I picked up last October. I got it right during the duck season so had little to no time to do much with it other than paint and new power before I hit the salt with it.
This was bringing it home. Had a 1993 saltwater merc on it when I bought it.
I no more than got it home and started some paint and then decided on repower for safety since I guide with the boat.
Pic bringing it home with new power, 150hp Honda.
More paint.
That was about as far as I got last season with it. I just pulled all of the foam out of the boat. That was great fun as everyone that has done it can attest to. Using dock billets and noodles to re-foam. Previos owner had replaced the floor with marine board which is basically 1/2 inch textured cutting board. Nice stuff but he left the foam. Lucky me. I also ripped out the front deck since this is primarily a hunting boat. I moved the console to the side and back some to give more room for layout boats and hunters. I will probably replace the console soon with a smaller one than factory to gain a bit more room.
