Baking/cookie sheet worked real well as a mold release. Almost as good as waxed paper. Surprisingly enough even the aluminium foil worked. Now I'll just let it sit until tomorrow and then start the inevitable grinding :)

Thanks Mike! Here's where it's at right now. Maybe not perfectly smooth, but the pb was really hairy and ought to be structural enough. Grinding tomorrow.

Been meaning to mention you seem to use back lighting for your glassing pictures. Brilliant! With front lighting even a perfect layup looks like it has air bubbles most of the time. Also, the picture of your "boat house" lit up at night, soulful. I could easily see that on a calendar.

WOG,
At the end of the Day....That was a Great approach to the transition heights. That's one for the books!

Yeah that Okie has a lot of rabbits he keeps pulling out of his hat! I think Nurseman's PB transom repair is my all time favorite but I'm sure they'll be more!

He sure does. I've now finished grinding the highs and filling the lows, now I'm just waiting for the pb to kick so I can finish the last sanding today. Pics coming soon!

Oh, and fun that you noticed Rick. It's half planned and half coincidence, I've been using the lamp as a backlight to really see what the surface quality is. It doesn't forgive much :)

Awesome job red!!! Looks Fantastic!!! :first:

So what did you use between the foam and the fiberglass, so the glass didn't melt the foam?

Very nice Red! Those stringers are almost too pretty to cover up!

Thanks guys! At least I've learnt from my mistake now. The three stringers I've got left to build will be high enough from the start for sure...

The closed cell polyurethane foam sheet I used didn't mind the polyester, and afaik polyurethane in general doesn't mind it at all. I really like working with it, it's really easy to tool and sand!
