Probably a bit late for reply, but I just got here.<br /><br />Laser is a good beginner's boat. . . if the wind's not fluky. Sunfish is a good one, too. It's bulletproof, and it might be easier to acquire/dispose of. Make sure the hull doesn't leak. If you want top-flight competition, Europe Dinghy is the women's Olympic class, but the boat's more expensive and finicky.<br /><br />Things to consider, among others:<br />Do you want to take a crew or passenger?<br />Are there others in your area? (You learn quicker and the boat's easier to resell if there are).<br />How much do you want to spend?<br />Where will you sail from? . . dock, beach, bulhead?
