OK, This is my fisrt boat, It's a 1985 17 foot Cimmaron with an 1985 force 85 horse motor. Model 856X5L , Heres the deal. Motor sat for 2 summers and was winterized and fogged before storage. I got it took it to the my local mech where he found a bad stator. burned and replaced. Motor runs starts good but had trouble in the low to mid rpm range. If you could get it to throttle up to full it would be good, but getting it there with out it slowly bogging and dieing was sometimes a challenge. It does seem to run very smooth, no stutters or jumps in the upper rpm range. It did have about 1 gallon of gas that was left in the tank from last year with stabilizer and I added 9 gallons and 1 and a half of penzoil synthetic oil. Is that one gallon of left over going to ruin the whole new stuff? and cause the problem? or am I going to have to have the carbs tore down and cleaned? Is there a treatment that might help or would it do more harm than good? I have read posts about things not to use but there is some dissagreement on decarbing. Does decarbing help the carbs? or is it just for carbon build up in motor? Lots of questions I know, but you guys are the most complete knowledgable place I have found for information anywhere. Thanks for that!!!

Chris
