Well, he used the contraption that took 12 hunks of flesh out of the prostate with 18 tries. If you ever had one, you know they are spring loaded pricks that gather samples of your prostate. Apparently the tool they used was not sufficiently sanitized... at least that was the story I got from the head nurse...
Many women are afraid of their first mammogram, but there is no need to worry. By taking a few minutes each day for a week preceding the exam and doing the following exercises, you will be totally prepared for the test! Best of all, these simple exercises can be done at home.
Exercise 1
Open your refrigerator door and insert one breast in the door. Have one of your strongest friends slam the door shut and lean on it for good measure. Hold that position for 5 seconds. Repeat with other breast.
Exercise 2
Visit your garage at 3am when the temperature of the cement floor is just perfect. Remove your clothes and lie comfortably on the floor with one breast wedged under the rear tire of the car. Ask a friend to slowly back up the car until your breast is sufficiently flattened and chilled. Turn over and repeat for the other breast.
Exercise 3
Freeze two metal bookends overnight. Strip to the waist. Invite a stranger into the room. Press the bookends against one of your breasts. Ask the stranger to smash the bookends together as hard as they can. Set an appointment with the stranger to meet next year and do it again.
You are now properly prepared!
What you had is not a prostate exam but a biopsy of the prostate. You must have had a high PSA and they were searching for cancer. To do your procedure they pierce through the bowel into the prostate and it is not uncommon to get an infection. That is why a normal procedure is to give you anti-biotics before and after the procedure.Well, he used the contraption that took 12 hunks of flesh out of the prostate with 18 tries. Pretty standard with the prostate since there are two lobes. I know way too much about this because I had a cancer scare.is that the standard amount of samples to take for biopsy? i've not needed a biopsy of anything before, i'd imagined it was only one or two sampls that were taken.

They use propofol (Diprivan). It knocks you out instantly and brings you back just as quick.
cheers,And don't sweat the upper endoscopy. I have had it yearly for the last 5-6 years. They use propofol (Diprivan). It knocks you out instantly and brings you back just as quick. First time I was afraid of nausea and being sick. But it didn't happen. I had my wife stop so I could get a cheeseburger and fries on the way home. Once i looked at my watch just before I went to sleep and again when I woke up - 4 minutes. Same experience with the actual colonoscopy, but it took about 20 minutes. Prep the night before is the aggravating part of that.
