Probably a stupid question, but... 
My girl caught a shark out in the the sf bay about a month ago, having a great time out off Paradise Dr. She pulled in a few small ones that I make her throw back, but then pulls in a nice 36 inch gray shark (don't know the type) We bleed it, ice it, and take it home where I gut it, chop it up and toss it in ziplock freezer bags. We pull it out tonight and the meet is cooked. It smells bad. It's also white and pulled apart like cooked fish.
