Re: Fixing upholstery...

I've got some of Fireman's work on my boat, not a big or overly complex piece, but I sent him an MS Paint image with some rough dimentions, and he sent me a cover for my cuddy's hatch that fit PERFECTLY.

So, yeah... Fireman is the man :joyous:

If fireman lived a little closer I'd have taken my barge to him, but alas........

As a 20 year upholsterer specializing in marine upholstery....I can safely say that you don't have a clue what you're talking about. Show your work.....
This is the same person that claimed you can pump the oil out of an engine with a shop vac..not surprised.

Re: Fixing upholstery...

I was ready for a barrage of insults back from the person that posted the comment, not the positive comments that came this way. To all of you who backed me...thank you very much!

A lot of people have that same thought regarding upholstery..."fold it over and staple it down". It's these same people who bring their handiwork to me 3 days later saying please fix this! There is A LOT of sewing when it comes to any upholstery. The ones who attempt to fold and staple wind up with work that looks exactly like that.

And I play by the same rules. When I say it's harder than you think, I'll show my work...
