Oops, I wasn't clear. Didn't mean alcohol. I was speaking of 2-for-1 Fajitas like at Cody's every Wednesday!

Back to topic... maybe there will be a fine eatery around the place we pick for next year's meet?

Crystal River has Granny's...best breakfast in town! It's on the corner of US19 and the road to the site, Hwy 44...

Chase did the best breakfast, he came up with scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, cheese, rolled up in a toasted flour tortilla. we did this a LG. lots of coffee.

Hello all sorry I have been out of the loop here recently. Been kinda crazy. I have not caught up on all the posts yet but it sounds like Crystal River is heading to the forefront of the locations this year. I am all in!!

Love it down there!

I still would like to someday have one of these get togethers on the Suwannee River. Maybe 2011.

Steering commitee guys if I can help let me know.

Lets just have it at my house. I got 40 acres on the lake which is connected to three major creeks that extend up into Georgia. Anyone familiar with Panama City? Let's do it! You know you guys wanna drive for hours and hours!!! haha

Sounds like fun, wherever it is I will definitly be there. Dont know which boat to bring though. If I can ever get this Evinrude fixed Ill bring it, this tri hull is a lot of fun when it runs good. The Bass Tracker gets dirty too easy and the Cobia is too big for lakes.

Nothing wrong with Panama City..the gulf waters up that way are some of the most beautiful in the state..
As far as the Cobia, it may be the boat to bring. At Crystal River, the river leads out to the Gulf. Opens up to miles of grass flats and the deeper water is home to stellar grouper and snapper country...

PCB is a beautiful place. I would be one to drive for hours and hours, like about 7 of them, went there a few years back with the SeaRay folks, one of them is a friend of mine and he has a condo in the Bay Point Marina area. Made two trips that year enjoyed them both. As triumprick said the Cobia is probably the one for CR as you will be in the Gulf in just a few minutes.

Well, we went to Crystal River yesterday. Hit the river about 9:00 am and went to the Crystal Isle canal...too shallow for me to try and enter. There were also a couple smaller boats headed out, so we left thinking we would come back later. The weather soured and we left without taking any pics or trying to get in the canal again.

We did get some fishing in. Went to the flats for awhile and got some trout 16 - 18". Headed out a ways and found a huge school of big greenbacks. Jigged up a few and caught a 4' blacktip as well as this real nice red grouper...

Another good place might be Elie Ray's Campground on the Santa Fe river. It is about a mile or so from the Suwanee confluence. Nice place and a nice mooring dock for guests at the campground. They also have a bar/restaurant there too. But, it is in the middle of nowhere. A great area to boat in.

Do you have any pics or first hand knowledge of Ellie Rays? Can we get all size boats in and out? Suwanee leads to the gulf..how is the inshore fishing?

I boat there 2-3 times a month in the summer. You can put anything in there, I have seen plenty of boats in the 20-30' range on the ramp. I think it is around 55 miles to the Gulf.

nice place, can you tent camp on water front lots? looks like they put all the tents, in the back 40. i don't see notice of any rentals cabins or campers, motel for the soft campers.

They don't have any "waterfront" camping, so to speak. With the flooding that occurs, everything is set back aways from the river. There is a walkway down to the dock. No cabins that I know of. There is a place up river called Sandy Point and I think they have motel/cabins.
