Start the new job on the 4th.

the last week has been hell.

spent Sunday repairing the exhaust system on the truck and building a bracket for carrying the mopeds on the front of the boat trailer. Also cleaned out the kegorator at my friends house.
Monday while taking the truck to get the brakes done, the water pump goes out . Headed north to move a project vehicle and the battery on the Audi goes into melt down. have to love the smell of a shorted battery.
spent the rest of Monday moving my '53 project truck 80 miles from my friends heated garage to my storage unit - used his truck since the dodge was getting worked on. Couldn't find a trailer to rent - pulled in a few favors and found an angle iron reinforced box trailer. ended up strapping the cab and frame to the top of it. burned some beer favors with a bunch of people to lift that. found a battery at about 8pm.
Spent Tuesday building shelves in the storage area and moving stuff from the house to storage, then putting up railings at my Mothers house.
Spent Today emptying one of my other storage units and moved the Opel GT project into the storage unit with the truck. ran into a problem moving the '48 truck's Big Block Olds
Tomorrow will be spent changing engine and trans oil on the audi, then parking it for a few months. Will also replace the inner wheel well on Jodi's Vibe. Then packing up a bunch of garage items.
Friday will be loading the truck with computers, clothes, tools and fishing gear. the remainder of the household items will have to wait.
Spent the last week looking for a spare wheel and tire for the boat. load range D 13" tires not to be found anywhere. ended up getting one shipped from etrailer. supposed to be here on Friday, holding my breath until then.

currently stressed, sore and fatigued.

Leave Saturday morning, headed south. would love to stop by anyone along the way.
Headed down I-43 to Milwaukee, then 90/94 to I-80 south of Chicago. I-80 to I-65 south to I-24. then over to I-75 in Chattanooga and south to Bradenton.

Whew - you gotta' sweetheart of a run on Saturday! Keep an eye on the weather. Leftovers from Isaac will be playing with our weather down here ... looking at scattered Thunderstorms through the Nashville area.

I'm right on your way ... not sure exactly what Saturday is looking like yet. If I get the head put back on Friday, I might be lake testing on Saturday.

Scott, hop off I75 at GA300 and go south to US319 at Thomasville, GA. Continue south on US319 through Tallahassee and you'll drive right to me. Bradenton is about 4 hours further from here (and a nice drive along the coast). I'll make us a nice dinner!

You will enjoy our year round boating and no winterizing.:D
For a great view of Tampa Bay go over the Skyway, but it's steep if your pulling something.

"moved the Opel GT project"

When ya get time tell me about this project. I had an Opel GT and some buddies and I managed to shoe horn a SBC (and tranny) into it. Was a BLAST to drive and I've always loved the body lines of the car.

Its my perma-project. 2nd car I ever bought. owned it now for almost 30 years. was a stock restoration in '86, then someone hit me in the drivers side. I then installed a Buick 3.8 liter and 5 speed with a rear end out of a V8 chevy Monza. would do the quarter in 12.9. parked it in 1991, acid dipped the body in 1994, luckily I had the forethought to prime and paint the body. now I have a corvette IFS / IRS setup along with a supercharged Northstar motor to go into it when I have spare time.

not my first time boating around tampa. I lived in Bradenton from 08 - '10. used to fish under the skyway, however got sick of beer bottles being tossed over the sides and nearly hitting us.

+1. You gotta check some of the "Forgotten Coast" (i.e. the Real Florida). Sarasota/Bradenton is alright, but I'll take St. George island any day :) I may have to crash y'alls party!

Re: Florida Here I come

fight nice you guys. been to every coast in Florida, really like the gulf.

today I got the oil changed on the audi, changed the trans fluid too, however had to use a friends shop for his hoist, a few tools, and an additional set of hands. side note, it takes 2 people to put fluid in an audi. one underneath pumping in fluid, while someone has the brake applied while car is running and in gear.

Spare tire showed up today. also strapped the mopeds to the trailer, and put the wooster hellion in the back of the Rogue.

bonus, while cleaning out the boat, there was 10 bottles of beer in the floor coolers. have most of them turned into urine already.

Come on down, the water's fine. BUT, please remember that when you're not familiar with an area, the left lane is NOT for sight-seeing. That's what the far right one is for. Now....carry on.

If you decide to plop the boat in the St. Johns River Sunday, give us a call. I'll mix up a few cold ones.

Re: Florida Here I come

well, the trip down wasnt without events. first fuel stop, locked the keys in the truck. took Unique Towing in North Chicago about an hour to come by. then the guy was too busy on the phone to actually finish opening the truck, so I grabbed the tools and unlocked the truck. Backtracked to Jodi's brothers house to drop off her car keys I had in my pocket. The A/C went out just north of the Florida Border, then I blew a tire on the trailer on I-10.

Today I get a call from my tenants in the house. the A/C is out. :(
