i have a skeeter bas boat. its stripped to the hull. all the wood was rotten. its gone. i plan on using 3/4'' foam board for the skeleton of the stringers and ribs. has anyone ever used this before how does it work out. i plan on laying matt on it in layers of woven. shredded, woven, shredded, woven. i think this will be more than enough support. any ideas? plus it never had any ribs in it, just stringers. the transom is laid in as we speak. i used plywood. this boat sits low in the water so i want it to pop up a bit. im using more foam that was in two of these boats. can one use to much foam? its goin to have a 140 inline 6 merc hanging off of it. i figure that the ribs im putting in will weigh about 70 lbs, and the foam board will make up for the weight with extra bouyancy. i figure that once im done it will never sink even if broke in half. which is good right? its that underground concrete thermal foam. its uneffected by the resin. it actully becomes very solid when soaked with the glass. it will not soak up water.
