Foam on Aluminum corrosion

I dug all the foam out of the 1989 Lowe aluminum boat. It was poured right against the hull and inner partitions. Looks like the foam caused some corrosion, actually a few small pinhole size pits that go completely through the hull. Only a few, so I'll plug those. Ever seen foam do this ? Granted, it was partially wet. The foam in my Capri was poured in a polyethylene liner of sorts.Would a plastic lining like that help with the aluminum hull ? I just didn't expect corrosion where the foam was poured directly on the metal. Plan to re-pour this weekend.
Thanks

the wet foam held water against the aluminum. that is where the corrosion came from. the water with minerals in it, not the foam
