Im a drummer and this drum machine is driving me nutts. I like the interludes you have though. Its pretty cool. If there is a copy of that without the drum machine there id most likely jam to it on my drumset and the old earphones. the second one sounds like megadeth kinda. But are great songs. Thanks for shareing

As im listening to the second one it is starting to remind me of something dream theater like as the song progresses. Way cool! Good job. Where ya from id like to jam with ya.

Re: For those of you into Hard Rock music

Hey Drewmitch, Im in Gainesville Fl. and I would like nothing more to hook up with a drummer to live record a few songs.......I have all the drum mics and gear need cept a drum set and drummer. I do have all the tracks without drums so let me look on here and if you send me a PM I will send them to your email.

As for the Dream theater reference, I feel that band is one of the most talented bands out there. I really was thinking of that style when I began fooling around with these tunes. (Though Im a poor example of a progreesive guitar players compaired to Petrucci) Back in the early 90's when they put out Images and Words, it caused such a stirring in me it led to my best band I have ever been in to split and the 1/2 that went with me became Prog. Metal and the other 1/2 went Grunge........We all regret breaking up cuz it was a truly unique and awesome band that was going somewhere but when I heard DT I had to go in that direction.

Re: For those of you into Hard Rock music

I'm a musician (guitarist/singer), and though this isn't the type of stuff I play (my stuff is more Stonesish), I dig it.

I knew that it was only basic tracks, so the lack of vocals didn't bug me. I could hear where they'd be, too.

I think it's good stuff, and I especially like the Egypt one.

And, of course, as you already know, it will sound even better with a real drummer.

Re: For those of you into Hard Rock music

About 2 yrs ago I was in Colorado Springs doing a gig and we were staying at some mountian resort. they had a radio station on in the pool/hot tub area and they were playing all this great music from when I was growing up like. GnR, Queensryche, Metallica, ect, ect, ect, and I thought wow what a cool station...............Until they said that they were the classic rock station.......That is the day that I began to feel old........I mean come on classic rock? I would guess the median age of an Iboats member is between mid 30s and mid 40s so many of us were growing up in the days of headbanging music.

Re: For those of you into Hard Rock music

I am definitely not a head banger. In my garage band days we played Pink Floyd, Santana, Rush and originals, oh and a poor job jamming Mahavishnu Orchestra stuff. We wanted to play Yes etc., but, well, we were too sucky . . .

I've always hated Death Metal, I just don't like negative stuff period. Ozzie and Black Sabbath make me hurl, and why would anybody name something musical Megadeth? But, but, I love loud, crunchy, screaming, wailing, guitar. I like anything guitar. Always have, always will. When I was 14 or 15 it was Johnny Winter, then I heard John Mclaughlin and Al Dimeola, and was into fusion (still am), and then I heard Ambrosia and Genesis and went Prog nuts around 16 . . . I like almost all types of music though. I'm even dipping into a slightly country phase. Kinda into Keith Urban (good guitarist), and I love the Chicks. I don't care a flyin' flip about ANY performers political views. I "pay" them to write and perform music etc. Those girls can flat out write, play and sing . . . I even like some Pop and I'm into American Idol etc. I don't really like Techno (no, not you Ray), but I tolerate it and Hip Hop because of good beats and big Bass. So there it is . . .

Mike, I'll PM soon with some questions. I said I have equipment, but I meant for live performances. I need to figure out the recording part of this, then I could get some tracks to you . . .

Re: For those of you into Hard Rock music

Yeah, I'm not really into most metal, but I can appreciate talent when I hear it, and those tracks obviously show talent.

My musical taste is quite eclectic, from "classic" rock to classical, from jazz to reggae to punk, from Prog Rock to New Wave to Alternative to Indie to New Age, etc...

But when all is said and done, if you put on some early to mid-70s Rolling Stones (when they had Mick Taylor), I'm quite happy.

... wow no easy feat! Floyd, Santana & Rush. Working Man drum solo extensive.

Ozzie's not so bad. He had a pretty good thing going in the days of Randy Rhoads. The dood could play! War Pigs was always a favorite
