We were at a park for mothers day today and my wife slipped on a hill a severly broke her leg.......I was on the hill with her holding her leg off the ground, We had our dogs with us and my dog is not really friendly so no one could take hime and I had to hold her up the hill cuz she was slipping down it more.......My 9 yr old son had our other dog but it took over a 1/2 hr for the paramedics to get there.I was almost out of strenth when they finelly got there but I know it had to be God that gave me the strength until then. My wife broken up, two hyper and excited dogs and little boy in a panic and on a steep slippry hill, all for over a 1/2 hour....we are alll really traumatized at this point as this woman is our world and she suffered so much. God did send a woman to my wife as she layed there screaming out to Jesus and she prayed with my wife and calmed her down enough that she could breath. I have no idea who she was but she was such a blessing. Ronda needs surgery and they will be putting in a plate and a min. of two screws. all I can say I never have had anything hurt this bad to see the love of my life hurting so bad , almost killed me.....I would have taken two broken legs and arms to spare her this and I will never forget it.....Please pray for her and our son......he was trooper and just kept telling mom to think happy thoughts but at nine this has had to effect him. Thank you,
Mike

Mike, that's HORRIBLE!!!
In 1998, I was involved in a motorcycle accident. A blind idiot turned left right in front of me, and all I could do was lay left, then right.I almost cleared him, but my right foot and hand caught the back of his truck.
It ripped the cowboy boot off of my foot (haven't seen it since), smashed my hand, and my foot was facing the tailight... I never dumped the bike, and now --- I couldn't even use front or reear brake. My femur was protruding thru my blue jeans.
What Rohnda faces is pain, and a pain she has not faced yet. The THERAPY!!
She will swear to you that there is n o way she can place any weight on that leg after surgery.
Carol was by my side the whole time, and when I came-to from the first surgery, there she was ,smiling and kissing me. I asked her about the bike, and she said it was not that bad, and that a nice man from the very street i finally got it stopped on, had a bike trailer, was a rider, and had it towed to our house, and he told her the damage was minimal.
I said "Great... I can rig something for the crutches up and be able to ride it"...
Mike, this is when she started crying hysterically. I sold the bike. As much as I loved that machine, she is all I cared about.
God blessed you by sending Ronda to you. Love that strong and eternal is a very prescious thing. Just be there for her when she goes thru the uphill healing process.
I can relate to that also, as Carol is in my life. Ronda is in good hands.
Of course, Carol and I are praying for a speedy recovery, and a strong tollerance to the pain she is in. Try not to take all the pain meds the docs offer... They do not like to see their patients in pain either, and have a tendancy to "over-prescribe". Of course, she will need some at first. Just do not let her fall-into a "routine pain pill".
I say this also from a position of empathy, as they were "on the shelf, and this is killing me!"
I only took one when the pain and frustration became too great to hold-back the screams... I got more relief anyhow from the awarewness that Jesus suffered so very much more than I ever will. That made me cowboy-up for the therapy sessions too.
You are in my prayers too, my friend. You are now the primary caregiver, and that won't be easy. I pray that God will grant you the strength YOU will need.
You still have my email address, right?
Seanskiware@earthlink.net

Call, or email me if there is anything Carol and I can do.

Thank you all so much. She had a very rough night because the Morphine is getting her sick but the pain is so bad. The nurse gave her something to help her sleep and she finally got sleep after 2 or 3 in the morn. I will check back later. Once again.....Thank you all.

Prayers are with ya Mike, hope your wife gets well soon, 12 footer is right, try and talk her into taking the pain pills only when she absolutely needs them.

Strange as it sounds pain, is what kicks in the bodies own immune/system. What park were you at? Very familiar with the area where you live, might have been there at that park a time or two ourselves? Busiek state forest has some rather steep hills, nice trails?

We were at Nathanal Greeene park....we go there every weekend and walk our dogs and have family time.......As for the pills. Well she is very anti drug....even tried to go it without the morphine........she was lieing about how much it hurt cuz she hates taking drugs........It broke my heart when the pain got unbearable and she told me she lied cuz she is afraid of getting addicted. Doctor had to explain that she would only have the morphine for one day after surgery and then no more.....As for the pills I know she will be very careful for the same reason as above....Plus I will do everything I can to help her. She never has dealt with pain very well but she has been such a trooper. She is in surgery right now.

She?ll do fine Mike; I know how she feels about pain pills, I had rotator cuff surgery about seven months ago. The Doc prescribed a prescription for 40 pills of oxycodone/apap 5 mg?im looking at the bottle now, so I know it is spelled right. Still has 39 pills in it. Believe me im no hero, and sure don?t enjoy pain, but knowing how I enjoyed some things in my younger days don?t want too go into my senior years hooked on anything.

Well about a yr and a half ago my Drug addict brother ( Was that way for yrs) broke his leg almost just like my wife did. Came out of the hospital with OXY......A yr and half later and now he has moved on to Herion........Like I said had drug problems all his adult life but that Oxyctin was something he couldnt kick....then when they cut him off 6 months after his surgry he went to streets looking the H was easier to find and get and there you have it.....now a Hardcore addict. My wife will not have that Problem Im sure and I will be here to watch every move she makes for quite awhile.......

Re: For those who pray( Emergeny prayer needed)

Not going to get in too much of my pre forty year life but suffice to say they were rather Hhm m how shall I put this …unconventional, I guess will do. Didn’t think I would live to make my fortieth birthday, so it was party hardy, hammer down . Guess what? One day I woke up with a hangover and it was the day after my birthday. Damn forty years, checked things out still had most of my body parts left, maybe a few brain cells missing, looked around and seen a few of my more sober friends, some appeared to have even fewer brain cells than I had. Mostly the Republicans.:D Decided I had better get my Sxxx straight, …hell I just might even make to too fifty if I start taking care of myself. To make a long story a bit shorter; I turned my addictive ways into a plus. I guit smoking, and yes that meant everything, in including the bong. Quit drinking, turned into a fitness freak, sometimes that can be destructive too the body as well {rotator cuff surgery}. If your brother is anything like me, he can turn his life around. Some how you/he /someone, but in the end, only he has the power to get his additive nature turned into a positive. Maybe we can add him into our prayers list as well.
