Re: For those who think global warming is an ALGORE joke...
FTR, I drive a Jeep Grand Cherokee and the company I work for pays the gas. Your point?
I'm not exactly sure what you all fear in this, or what you think the global warming, or scientific community is trying to do. They are really trying to do what is resonably possible to limit the growth of greenhouse gas emissions, and/or increase the planet's ability to deal with them. CO2 is an important part of the health of the planet. The goal is surely not to eliminate it.
There are lots of things that can be done if we put our collective minds to it in some sort of organized effort. Frankly, developing pollution control equipment to be marketed worldwide is likely to be good, and not bad for our economy.
The oil companies, and the neo-cons have done a great job at scaring the bejeesus out of everyone. It is an irrational fear, as most fears are.

On that note, PW, what do you drive to work? I drive a 125cc scooter which gets about 80mpg city. If what you say is true, you're contributing to the same problem you claim to be so concerned about. Don't just bytch and complain, do something. Sell your car and walk. You libs will hug a tree as long as it doesn't have any sap on it.
When you want to walk to work or ride a horse (nevermind, horse manure also gives off harmful gasses) , bring this topic up again.
