Unfortunately, so many have become pawns in the Decomrats propaganda machine. You see, it's the interpretation or Gore's film that is wrong.
Here are some poignant "facts" from Gore's film:
- This is a cycle that has repeated itself at least 7 times (no cars the first 6 times)
- This warming cycle started 18,000 years ago (no cars back then either)
- Yes, it is accelerating (but it would as more water and land-mass is exposed)
I am a conservative that feels Mr. Gore did a reasonably good job with his film. However, the 2 basic conclusions that he draws: 1) That this is being caused by man; and 2) that we can control it; are not supported by his data. If his data is correct, we should be spending our money relocating our coastal cities, because there is no evidence in his film that the situation is reversable or controllable by man.
Does this mean we should not try? Heck no! But we have to understand that this is a very complex system that is affected by many things, and to think we understand and control the causes of climatic changes is simply foolish. Remember, incrrect action is more detrimental than no action, because it lulls you into thinking ou are adressing the issue while you are not.
Be smart people. Gore's movie is feel good stuff to endear you to a politcal party. He has no answers and is not calling for the type of action it would take to really change anything. I'm not saying he is crying wolf. Instead, he is saying the sky is falling and then recommending that an umbrella will protect you. Let me translate "vote democrat and you will be part of the solution".
Now, let's agree to elect someone who has the vision to lead us to a new, less poluted, world; and the courage to make sure that we realize the obvious economic benefits that can be a part of this new world. Let's hope such a candidate surfaces.
