Spark plugs out, engine off, have the wife shift into forward and reverse while you use your foot to rotate the prop, use a tape measure to check the shift cable travel from neutral to forward, then again to reverse.

What has happened is the cable has stretched a little and a also worn a groove inside of the cable housing. You can adjust the cable housing to bias the travel more towards forward or back towards reverse, BUT you MAY NOT GET BOTH until you replace the cable assy.

Next potential problem, what size fuel line did you put on, Only use 5/16 or larger, because a 1/4 will NOT flow enough fuel to feed your 120/125, starving just a little will cause it to run lean, burn extremely hot and melt the pistons.

i got the shifting problem figured out. it seems to be ok now. apperently when i was lubing up everything i accidently moved where the cable was positioned when i put it back on the mount so it had been moved out. seems to be doing ok now, but again we will see. am just working on the fuel delivery problem. i will order a couple carb kits, new plugs, and new fuel line and filter. now the bulb is 1/4 so that could be a problem too. i will pick one of those up too. thanks. will post back when i have the stuff. i will frequently check to see if anyone else has posted any other ideas. thanks mark
