Yes, sorry, you did miss the post's intention by quite a bit. I didn't state or infer anything about this being funny, and honestly my feelings are quite the contrary actually. I really sympathize with these kids (I was in their boots 30 yrs ago at the Academy) and treat them like my own ( sponsoring out of town kids at my home and mentoring struggling students in my spare time). They are experiencing the most intense stress (physically, emotionally, and psychologically) during their Academy Indoctrination that I hope they ever experience in their lives. About 25% of the 350 plebes will request to drop out in the next two weeks on average, and I actually think that number will be higher since the heat and humidity will be a big influence. On Friday, I witnessed 30+ kids drop from the conditions and dragged off the grinder for examination and hydration. To be completely clear, I posted this proudly to demonstrate their commitment and the rigors these kids endure to ultimately serve our Nation.
