Was going over the boat getting it ready for Monday today & discovered a leak in my fuel quick connect (pic below) on motor (1987 70hp Johnson):(
No place to get one this weekend, just attached fuel line direct to pump - Will this be OK  Really want to be on the water Monday

You'll be fine going direct. Make sure you have enough slack in the fuel line.

Direct is fine. Mine has not used a quick connect for as long as I can remember.

Another thanks- really don't (or ever) seen a need for one but i got one bought off Ebay for 6 bucks shipped so i figured WTH  I was just concerned it might be a pressure/fuel flow thing so i was concerned about doing away with it

Re: Fuel Attachment Question

I just trashed one that looked just like the one in your post picture. It will slip onto the fuel connector at the outboard, but not lock in and stay put. Always test those connectors...the ones I buy/use now have a thumb/finger ridge (grabbing point) just behind the mouth of the larger hole on the connector...never had one of those fail or not work.
