Hello,
I like many others here have just aquired a 1978 Mercury outboard. Its a Mariner 900. It has been sitting for about 2-3 years, and I am in the process of tearing it down, and cleaning it up. Its on a 1978 Monark McFast 17 fiberglass bass boat.

My question is, I have taken off the fuel pump to replace the diaphram, but I cant get the two parts separated. I took out the bolts obviously, and I can't seem to get them to pull apart. I don't wany to pry on it and mar up the surfaces. Is there any special tricks to get this thing apart?

Thanks.

Nate.
